Black Eyed Cheese (Screed #38)

February 8, 2011…

A quick screed about The Black Eyed Peas and their horrendous appearance at this year’s Super Bowl. Why this band is so huge is beyond us. Their music is completely generic and vapid. And what was with, not one, but two godawful ’80s covers?? Please let us never hear “Sweet Child o’ Mine” or “Time of My Life” again in this lifetime. 8 million times is more than enough! Don’t the Peas have enough of their own forgettable songs to bore us with??

And yes, the whole spectacle was so completely over the top, cheesy and ridiculous looking. Were they trying to look spacey and cutting edge? They just looked like buffoons. Can’t anybody sing a song anymore without there being 2,000 dancers up on stage with them? Everything is like Vegas glitz these days — all style and no substance.

Next year, how about we do away with the halftime show altogether? Just a thought…

The Black Eyed Peas are the reason the Taliban continues to gain strength. Any potential budding foreign terrorist is shown a viewing of the Peas’ devastatingly shitty performance at the Big Game….within seconds, they are so angry at America……they’ll do anything to destroy America, and, more importantly, the Black Eyed Peas/Cheese…..pathetic.
